[There was snow on the ground for a couple of days but after that the temperature has got above zero again. Nevertheless, I cannot say it would be a nice and warm spring yet. The sun surely is warming up when the sky is not filled with clouds and some of the trees have had flowers for over a week already.]
Elämä täällä rullaa aika tavalliseen tahtiin. Töissä lasten kanssa jokainen päivä on silti omanlaisensa ja olen oppinut nauttimaan siitä aiempaa enemmän. Olen kiintynyt lapsiin ja he selvästikin minuun (huomioiden halausten, minulle lahjoitettujen kukkien ja rakkauden tunnustusten määrän), olen löytänyt omia rutiineja sekä kokeilen myös uusia asioita heidän kanssaan. Mukava lisä elämäämme esikoulussa on myös viime viikolla aloitettu tapa viettää kahdesti viikossa enemmän aikaa puistossa. Näin saamme harrastettua liikuntaa selvästi aiempaa enemmän. Edellisellä viikolla annoimme lapsille jalkapalloja potkittavaksi ja minä opetin hippaleikkejä omalle luokalleni. Vein myös ukuleleni ensimmäistä kertaa koululle ja yllättäen lapset oli helpompi pitää kasassa aamukokoontumisella, kun vähän soittelin samalla.
[My life here is rolling with the same rhythm. Yet, every day at work with the children is one of its kind and I have learned to like it more than before. I have become attached to the kids and seemingly they are also to me (considering the amount of hugs, flowers and confessions of love I get), I have found my own routines and I also am trying new things with them. A nice addition to our life at the school is the new habit we started last week: we are spending more time in the park twice a week. This way we get much more physical exercise. Last week we gave them footballs to kick and I taught some tag games to my class. I also took my ukulele to the school for the first time and suddenly it was much easier to control the kids during the morning gathering when I played a bit at the same time.]
Viime viikolla meillä oli koulukuvaus eskarillamme. Oli jännittävää kokemus olla kuvassa ensimmäistä kertaa opettajan roolissa. Vapaapäivänäni keskiviikkona taasen pääsin kokeilemaan crêpe-lounasta. Voi että oli hyvää, ja kaksi lättyä juomalla maksoi vain 5,50€!
[During the last week we had photos taken at our preschool. It was an exciting experience to be for the first time as a teacher in the classphoto. On my free day on Wednesday I got to experience crêpe as my lunch. Oh, it was good and two crêpes with a drink cost only 5,50€!]
Viikonloppuni oli oikein hyvä! Lauantaina menimme H:n kanssa teatteriin ja matkalla poikkesimme nauttimaan juomat mukavassa ravintolassa. En ollut aiemmin paljoa pysähtynyt ja vain katsellut ohikulkijoita ja Pariisin elämää. Se oli mukavan rentouttavaa ja opin ymmärtämään paremmin ranskalaisten suosimaa tapaa mennä drinkille terassille tai ravintolaan. Teatterikin oli mielenkiintoinen kokemus. Menimme katsomaan komediaa Dans la peau de ma femme, jossa aviopari joutuu toistensa kehoihin. Puheesta en ymmärtänyt kuin sanan sieltä ja toisen täältä, mutta pääjuonta pystyi seuraamaan kaikesta muustakin.
[My weekend was very good! On Saturday we went to a theater with H and on our way there we stopped by to enjoy drinks in a nice restaurant. I have not stopped like that often and just watched people passing by and the life of Paris. It was relaxing and I learned to understand better the habit of French people when they go for a drink to sit on a terass or in a restaurant. Also the theater was an interesting experience. We went to see a comedy called Dans la peau de ma femme which is a atory about a married couple ending up to each other's bodies. I could only understand a work here and a word there but I could more or less follow the main plot.]

Sunnuntaina tapasin uuden conversation exchange -ihmisen ja tämänkertainen ranskalainen oikeasti haastoi minut kertomaan asioista ranskaksi. Samalla tulin käyneeksi ensimmäistä kertaa Pariisissa kahvilalaivassa. Ja illalla pääsin vielä herkuttelemaan lisää, kun maltoin ja ehdin kerrankin panostamaan enemmän ruokaan ja lisäksi tarjolla oli hetken mielijohteesta tekemääni kakkua sekä H:n mukanaan tuomia söpöjä possu-leivoksia.
[On Sunday I met a new conversation exchange person and this French guy really challenged me to tell about things in French. At the same time I went to a boat cafe for the first time in Paris. And I got to feast more in the evening when I for once had time and energy to cook a little bit nicer dinner and in addition we had some cake I had made and cute pig pastry that H brought.]
