[During the
last three days also France got winter. There was some snow in the air on
Monday even though it melted when reached the ground, but the blizzard
yesterday turned the landscape homely white. It is not snowing here every year
so having several centimeters of snow is rare. The snow has both good sides and
bad sides here. Many people got enthusiastic and I have seen them making and
throwing snow balls on the streets. But as a contrary there are also problems.
The public transportation is delayed, the roads are slippery for cars with
summer wheels (which is why many people don’t even go to work today) and
accidents are happening (which I can hear from the ambulances passing our
house). I myself cannot unfortunately even enjoy making a snowman because I am
on a sick leave. I had to go home in the middle of my working day yesterday.]
En
kyllästy ihailemaan, kuinka paljon ja kuinka kauniita taloja Pariisissa onkaan!
[If I had
known how badly my cough would hit me this week, I would have probably skipped
the trip to a museum on Sunday. Since my fever was gone by Saturday and I felt
much better on Sunday morning, I decided I could maybe check some place because
it was the free Sunday of the month after all. The destination was the War
Museum which is located close to the Finnish embassy. The entrance ticket was
not free but the museum was impressive both from outside and inside. I don’t
get tired of admire how many and how beautiful houses there are in Paris!]

Museossa oli hienoja pienoismalleja Ranskan linnoista.

Katedraalin takaosiosta löytyi myös Napoleonin itsensä
hauta-arkku.
[In the
back part of the cathedral we found also the coffin of Napoleon himself.]
