Back to Paris

Reilu kuukausi Suomessa vähän siedettävemmissä lämpötiloissa, perheen ja ystävien luona, rentoutuessa ja leipoessa, vähemmän vilkkaissa paikoissa oli aivan loistava! Mieleni teki jäädä sinne, mutta eihän se arki siellä Suomessakaan voi aina jatkua sellaisena mukava lomailuna kuin se nyt oli. Paluu arkeen koittaa kuitenkin jossain vaiheessa, oli paikka mikä hyvänsä. Lähdön takaisin Ranskaan teki sentään helpommaksi se, että lensimme H:n kanssa samalla koneella Charles de Gaullen kentälle. Ja kotona Pariisissa minua odotti kaksi ihanaa halausta isäntäperheeni lapsilta.

[More than a month in Finland, in the more bearable weather, with my family and friends, relaxing and baking, in less crowded places was absolutely great! I wanted to stay there but the everyday life cannot continue the same way as it was during my vacation even if I stay in Finland. Returning back to the ordinary life needs to be faced  at some point, no matter what the place is. Going back to France was a bit easier since I flew together with H to the airport of Charles de Gaulle. And at my home in Paris I was welcomed with two lovely hugs from the kids of my landlords.]

Pakko pärjätä taas vähän aikaa täällä muistellen Suomea..
[I have to survive for a while here again, remembering Finland..]

Löysin uuden ihanan kortteliston lähistöltäni.
[I found a new lovely quarter nearby.]

Käytiin pyörimässä keskustan nähtävyyksillä, mutta Louvreen
pääsee sisään ilmaiseksi vasta lokakuusta lähtien.
[We went to walk around the centre but the free entrance to
Louvre starts only from October.]

Tänään oli lukuvuoden ensimmäinen koulupäivä (=työpäivä). Vastassa oli tuttuja aikuisia ja lapsia sekä tuttu päivärytmi, mutta muutoksia oli myös paljon. Syksyn alussa esikoulun aloitti tietysti uusi ryhmä pienimpiä eli 2,5-vuotiaita ja heidät erotettiin erikseen 3-vuotiaista (eli kumpaankin ryhmään on vara ottaa enemmän lapsia kuin viime lukukaudella). Muutamia uusia lapsia isompien ryhmissä ja lisäksi esikoulumme laajeni koulun puolelle opettaen muutamaa 1-2-luokkalaista. Pienet tilamme kävivät entistä pienemmiksi, mutta positiivisiakin puolia näissä lisäyksissä oli. Aikuisten määrä on myös hieman suurempi, kun kaikilla ryhmillä on oma opettajansa. (Tai no, oikeastaan odotamme vielä pienimpien ryhmän opettajaa, mutta assistantti heillä on jo.) Lisäksi emme mahdu esimerkiksi kokoontumaan aamuisin tai ruokailuja varten enää yhteen huoneeseen. Tämä tarkoittaa sitä, että kukin opettaja on vastuussa lähes aina vain ja ainoastaan omasta luokastaan. Se vähentää jo minunkin stressiäni, kun ei enää tarvitse ottaa välillä haltuun kaikkia esikoulun lapsia iltapäivällä ja kun vastaan vain omien 4-5-vuotiaideni ruokailuista.

[Today was the first day of school (=work) of the school year. I met familiar adults and children and the old familiar day rhythm, but there were a lot of changes, too. In the beginning of the autumn, there was of course a new bunch of the smallest ones (2,5 yo) starting the preschool and they were also separated from the 3-yo's (which means that both of those groups can take more kids than they had last year). Some new children also joined older groups and in addition our preschool expanded to the elementary school by taking a few pupils for the first two grades. Our small premises became even tighter but I find some positive sides about these additions. The amount of the adults is a bit bigger now since all the groups have their own teachers. (Or actually, we ares still waiting for a teacher for the youngest ones but they already have an assistant.) Furthermore, we cannot fit to gather up all together for example in the mornings or for the meals. This means that each teacher is most of the time responsible of only their own class. That already lowers my stress level since I don't need to look after all the children of the preschool sometimes in the afternoons and since I'm in charge of the meals of only my 4-5-yo's.]

Luokkani koko kasvoi hieman viime kevään 10 lapsesta. Vanhat MS-oppilaani (Moyenne Section) ovat nyt GS-oppilaitani (Grand Section), mutta luokaltani lähteneiden 4 oppilaan tilalle sain vanhasta pienten ryhmästä 5 lasta, ja lisäksi yksi koulumme uusista lapsista tuli minun luokalleni. Ei siis sinänsä paljoa stressattavaa siitäkään. Tunnen lähes kaikki oppilaani jo entuudestaan suht hyvin ja hekin ottivat minut hyvin vastaan omana opettajanaan. Muistivatpa GS:t vielä kuinka sanoa "poika" ja "tyttö" suomeksi.

[The size of my class increased a bit from 10 that I had last spring. My old MS pupils (Moyenne Section) are now my GS pupils (Grande Section) but to replace the 4 kids who left further from my class I got 5 kids from the previous smaller ones' class. Additionally one of the new children of the school came to my class. Cannot say there is much to stress about that either now. I know most of my pupils quite well from last year and they also took me well as their own teacher. My GS's even remembered still how to say "boy" and "girl" in Finnish.]
